New House Craft Projects

Hopefully in the next month or so we will be moving! Yay! We are excited and ready to start decorating. The I-need-one-thing trip to Hobby Lobby turned into an expensive, Garden themed-flowers everywhere-pinwheel-little girl blooming into a beautifully complicated pre teen-room shopping spree! That was a mouthful and as you can see I don't know how to use hyphens haha! So here are some thing we made!

Potted Pinwheels!

Started with some pinwheels that were on sale, 3 terra-cotta  pots, some flower planting styrofoam, and a bag of fake moss.

We put some styrofoam in the desired pot and stuck the pinwheels in, then covered the top with moss. Turned out super cute!

Cute J for hanging on our door!

Started with a wooden J and some Washi tape. I was new to this tape... it had a cute print on it. I just laid it down in a pattern that I liked.

Love craft days! Hope I have a lot more when we get into the new house! Have a beautiful, blessed evening!

Christmas Crochet Creations

So, I know that I have been absent from the blogging world for quit some time... Since February, Yikes! But I have been making a baby and having her! Haha! She is 7 weeks old and so much the light of my life. In the last few weeks she has become so bright eyed and coos at us often. Raegan has become the most amazing big sister, she feeds, helps bathe, and even stands in the same room during dirty diaper changes! Mike is such a great dad, I have always seen it with Rae and he is no different with Lilly. We have become much closer through the pregnancy, hard labor and delivery and now thru raising a child, I am so glad I have him as my rock. I have never been so aware of God's spectacular miracles as I am now! I have a happy, healthy family and I love every second of it!

I am in love with being a Lil's mom and Rae's step mom, I have even had a few minutes to crochet some fun Christmas stuff... which is actually what brought me back to the blog. I made Lilly and her BFF Oliver matching "elf" hats that they sported at the Jonesborough Christmas parade. Also I realized Lil Bit didn't have a stocking so I crocheted her one. I then decided we all needed matching ones, so I am starting Raegan's tonight and plan on having Mike and I one made by next year!

So here are some pictures... hope you enjoy!

Thanks to Aunt Uli (my sister, Julia) we had a wonderful newborn photo shoot shortly after we got home and settled! They turned out great... I especially like the ones in the purple "romper" I made.

And these next few are from the hospital that one of our night nurses took. She looks so chubby and funny in these... she has changed so much in 7 short weeks!

Well that is all for now. Hopefully I will keep up with this crazy blogging stuff so I can have things written down for the girls! Have a Beautiful, Blessed Day and Merry Christmas!

Front door wreath tutorial

So this wreath is super easy, but I thought I'd give you a step by step just for fun! Julia and I got super crafty today... We had a ton of fun and made a huge mess! So here goes...

So to start we bought a "twig wreath"? Is that even what you call it... Well I just don't know, but the kind that looks like twigs. We got 4 big hydrangeas, and a cluster of some big white flowers. You can really get any flowers you want though. We also got one big J for Johnson!

First step cut the hydrangeas off the long stem with about an inch left. We cut the white ones leaving a little longer stem because they were just fillers. We also cut off some leaves too add some green in.

Next we placed all of the big hydrangeas and J.

Then we put a little hot glue on the back of the J and the stem of each hydrangea, and we put them right back where they belonged.

Next we filled in with the white flowers.

We then strategically place some green in with the leaves. We made sure to put a little glue on the bottom of the leaf itself and pushed it in a little to look like they were actually coming from the flowers.

Finally we fluffed it a little and hung it on the front door. We are pretty proud of this one. Often our craft attempts turn out a little "funky", but this turned out better than we expected!

Hope you liked! Have a beautiful, blessed night!

Hello 2012

So I have been super crazy lately... well ever since before Christmas!
I have been crocheting like a mad woman and loving most every minute of it.

Before Christmas I posted about some of the projects I was working on and I am excited to say I got almost everything finished in time for Christmas... including the 10 Little Critters I was working on for Raegan!

Raegan loved them! Julia and Raegan named all of them, which was very entertaining.

I also finished all of the gloves... here are a few...

I also have been making "Hearts for Haiti" to help fund our mission trip in March. After going there last year to the Cap Haitien Children's Home in Haiti I just knew I wanted to go back. The children there stole my heart and I can't wait to see them again.

This year we will be helping lay some tile in a few rooms, lead a vacation Bible school type of devotion, and and playing with some amazing kids! So all of the money I make from the hearts is going straight to those projects! Here they are...

I think they would be cute for valentines day too!

And my latest project, as of yesterday...

I just love these cute nesting bowls... They are going to be great for organization!

Well along with all the other madness in my life this is what I have been doing. Hopefully I won't go so long without posting again... I will try harder to keep up! Have a beautiful blessed evening!

Christmas Gloves

I am so lucky to have a wonderful family and a hobby I love! I am currently working on 8 pairs of fingerless gloves that I have been asked to make for Christmas presents. My family has had a ton going on lately so the crocheting time has been limited. I don't want to give away any secrets so I won't say who these are for, but here are a few I have almost finished... they just need the little finishing touches.

I have also worked on a few yarn wreaths...

Well that is what is going on with me in the crochet world! You can find some of my fingerless gloves
here  at our Etsy shop or message me on Facebook and we can work on making you a custom pair!

Have a Beautiful, Blessed evening!
