Christmas Gloves

I am so lucky to have a wonderful family and a hobby I love! I am currently working on 8 pairs of fingerless gloves that I have been asked to make for Christmas presents. My family has had a ton going on lately so the crocheting time has been limited. I don't want to give away any secrets so I won't say who these are for, but here are a few I have almost finished... they just need the little finishing touches.

I have also worked on a few yarn wreaths...

Well that is what is going on with me in the crochet world! You can find some of my fingerless gloves
here  at our Etsy shop or message me on Facebook and we can work on making you a custom pair!

Have a Beautiful, Blessed evening!

Little Critters!

Lately I have been crocheting a lot, mainly working on a very special Christmas gift for Raegan. The only thing she asked for this year was for me to make her another stuffed animal, since last year I gave her Heather the Pony... she is so sweet and truly loves homemade things. She understands how much time it takes to make them and thinks it is so special to get something one of a kind, just for her. So this year I found this really fantastic pattern book...

It has been really fun making these critters. I have made the elephant, hippo, alligator, and walrus. Just 6 to go...

These little guys do require a lot of small rounds and I just haven't been happy with any of the stitch markers I have found locally lately... so I made my own...

I thought it turned out pretty good! Unfortunately this is the only actual work-in-progress picture I have. I erased all of the other pictures because I am trying to keep it a big secret from Raegan. This is going to be the elephant. I can't wait to share the finished pics of them... although I am fairly sure that won't be until very close to Christmas!

I have also bee working this week on adding some new stuff to Etsy! Let me show you...

I just have to say that this model is fantastic... you should book her for your next Etsy modeling needs!
(She is my sister and neither of us model.. she laughed a lot trying to get these shots!)

Well hope you liked my stuff! Have a beautiful, blessed day!

Work in Progress Wednesday

Today on my lunch break I was actually able to take some pictures of a few of the projects I have going right now. I always have a hundred things started, so this is just the beginning of my busy crocheting pile.

This first one is the one I want to finish the most.

It is going to be a blanket someday! I was simply tacking the squares together at the corners then I was going to add a border, but I decided it needed to be put together tighter, so I am going back and sewing the squares together. Maybe I will work on this tonight.

(the whiskers in the top of the pic belongs to one of our babies, Oliver)

See she loves to "help" me crochet... but with 2 cats and a dog all over me gets pretty annoying so they aren't allowed to help anymore...

The stacks of squares in waiting... hoping to become a part of this beautiful blanket one day!

Decided on light purple for my border color (I was all out of the others hehe)

I really love black and whites..

I think I am going to piece these together not in a pattern, I like it better that way.

    The pretty squares...

This next blanket is pretty.... But.... I . Hate . It....

I apparently did not count the stitches out right and now every time I work on it I have to figure out where to add and decrease, it is frustrating.

I like the colors and how it seems to move.

I currently can't find 2 of the colors, I misplaced them.

I think it would be really warm and pretty if I would finish it.

Last but not least... some earrings I need to finish and put on Etsy. They have been pinned and hardened, now they are dry and I just need to put the final touches on.

There you have it... The many projects I am working on! Hope you enjoyed.... Have a beautiful, blessed day!

UT Football

My family lives for Tennessee football!! We simply love the VOLS (and Clemson just a little *nod to Julia*) They are playing our rivals Florida right now... still in the first quarter, so we are still hopeful. So with all of the excitement of football season I thought it fitting to devote a blog post to our love of the game.

I want to feature our Orange "UT" headband today, because, well it rocks my face off! Find it here on our etsy shop Peace.Joy.Yarn.

Here is some of our fun from the last few weeks of the football season...

I have a serious phobia of birds, but I got in close enough to snap a few... she really does have pretty colors.

There you have it.. our crazy Tennessee family! Have a Beautiful, Blessed day! GO VOLS!

Heather the Pony

I am so excited to post this... I wish I could remember where I got the pattern, but I started it so long ago I have since lost the pattern. This is not a work in progress, but it too me soooo long to finish it I thought I should post it today!

    Here is the story...

When I married Mike and his (then) 4yr old, Raegan,  in 2008 I knew I wanted to make her something special. She loves horses... I mean LOVES! So this was a perfect project to do. Like I said I started crocheting it in 2008 and at the time I didn't know much about crochet and didn't really know the difference in a slip stitch and a single crochet, so the whole horse is done in slip stitches. Looking back, I don't know what I was thinking... and needless to say, it took forever. After finishing over half of the horse and realizing I was doing to wrong stitch I got discouraged and mad at myself, so consequently I put it down and didn't work on it for a long while. I stopped and started this project easily a dozen times. As Christmas rolled around last year I decided once and for all I would finish this frustrating horse. I worked like crazy to finish it in time and I love the outcome, so did Raegan!

Last night my sister and I had a pony photo shoot and I love how some of the pics turned out so much like Glamour Shots!!!

I love how she tells a story with her eyes thru the next few pictures!

I loved how her hair and bow turned out, she looks so dainty!

Oh this is one of my Favorites!! So dramatic!

"Just hanging out, posing with this railing!"

Here are a few full body shots...

I hope you loved it, we do! I hope you have a Beautiful, Blessed day!

I have to post this picture again because I love it so much!
